Give Us what we DESERVED
Wednesday, June 21st, 2006When I was small, my mom used to tell me that this world is fair, you set a target, you work hard towards it, and you get the same amount of success as the hard work you put in…The more you grow up, the more you feel it doesn’t always work this way, this world is unfair, and it is our own MINISTRY OF EDUCATION that gives me the reason to say so….
Just imagined you have worked hard for one and the half years, waking up early everyday, burning midnight oil every night, struggling to cope with stress, pressure of exams and have a hell of most terrible time in your life… and you end up getting NOTHING….how would you feel about it? That’s what thousands of sixth form graduates feel at this time, pissed off, end of the world, all hopes lost, suicide…
I do remember when I started sixth form, a lot of people tell me the same thing, you will regret it… they say no matter how hard you worked, no matter how good your result is, the chance of getting what you want is slim, and the final deciding factor is not in your hand…. they say, don’t ever study biology, you will end up biting dust, no matter how brilliant you are….but that’s what THEY say, no one cares, we are a bunch of hot-blooded, full of confidence and enthusiastic kids, only looking forward towards gunning success and defy all odds to make it….
I can easily say that I am now lucky not to be another victim of our terrible education system but I choose not to, and always remember people do not cry foul for no reasons…We desperately need transparency, its a big word, and we do not want to hear any more of those stupid excuses… there is no excuse when you get reasonably good results and not offered a place in university, there is no excuse that you study biology and got offered a course in other physics field that you haven’t even heard before….
We are so sick of listening the same lame excuse over and over again, " you cannot compare between the application and results of each other, there is a reason why a good students got bad course and a student who did badly got a better course, there is a reason why some are not even offered any even you got brilliant results, we have our own way of doing things and what you all can do is accept it and stop crying over spilled milk " for me that’s not what a human should say, that should come from some pigs without a brain, or maybe not so bad, some human with pig’s brain…. if there is really a reason, then we demand to know what it is… those people worked like hell day in day out, they deserve to know everything, if it is not because their results are not good enough, then why? If you keep them in the dark, its no difference from telling them to spend two years hibernating for nothing… WE are HUMAN, not SLAVES to some stupid system!!
I doubt that they will even come up with a reason for that, because there is no reason at all!! It is the system malfunction, ignorance among authorities, and a sluggish attempt to cover up mistakes… they are too weak to divide things fairly and properly that they messed up the whole thing, repeating it year by year, and still acts like they are having everything under control? That’s insane!! I see no difference in using a lucky draw to determine fate of students… In case they don’t realize it, they killed a lot of bright futures, many students who dropped out may not even attempt to further studies because of lacking of funds, even though they have the potential and are meant to do great things… I wouldn’t be surprise if I find salesman, construction workers, garbage collector or even beggars who previously did well in STPM but do not get any offer….
Please don’t give up hopes…for those who didn’t get anything or treated harshly…that’s all I can say. And for pigs who are still sleeping soundly, please wake up!!
